This policy explains how Propiota (“Propiota”, “we”) collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data when you use propiota.com and related services. By using Propiota you consent to this policy.
Who we are
Propiota is based in Delhi, India. For any privacy question or to exercise your rights, contact our Grievance Officer (below) or jain.himanshu@hotmail.com.
What we collect
- Account details — name, email/phone, password, and (for operators/verification) KYC and property-ownership documents you choose to provide.
- Usage & search data — what you search, listings you view/save/report, and your messages to our assistant, Iota.
- Transactional data — bookings, tokens/deposits, and payment references (payments are handled by our payment partner; we do not store full card details).
- Device & technical data — IP address, device/browser info, and essential cookies needed to run the site.
How and why we use it
- To provide the service — search, matching, bookings, and powering Iota (see How Iota works).
- To verify operators and listings, and to keep the platform safe (fraud, abuse, and content moderation).
- To communicate with you about your account, bookings, and support.
- To meet legal, tax, and regulatory obligations.
We process personal data on the basis of your consent and the other lawful grounds permitted under the DPDP Act. You may withdraw consent at any time (this may limit some features).
Who we share it with
- Operators, when you enquire about or book their listing (only what’s needed to proceed).
- Service providers acting for us — hosting, payments, communications, verification — under contract.
- Authorities where required by law, or to protect rights and safety.
We do not sell your personal data.
Retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above or as the law requires. In general, account data is retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards; transactional records are kept for as long as tax and other laws require; and search and assistant data is kept only as long as needed to provide, secure, and improve the service. We then delete or anonymise it.
Iota and your inputs
Propiota’s AI assistant, Iota, processes your messages and searches to answer you. Your inputs may also be reviewed and used to train and improve our models and the service. Your rights
Subject to the DPDP Act, you may request to access, correct, update, or erase your personal data, withdraw consent, and nominate a person to exercise your rights. To do so, contact our Grievance Officer.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect it and to notify you and the authorities of a breach as required.
Children
Propiota is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
